The vineyards are located in the Sassella DOCG area in Valtellina, an alpine valley in northern Italy, where vines grow on terraces handmade centuries ago to take advantage of every cultivable space. These terraces, supported by dry stone walls, are among the most inaccessible in Italy and represent a form of cultivation known as heroic agriculture. This practice requires constant commitment and entirely manual labor, resulting in grapes of the highest quality, an authentic expression of Valtellina's winemaking tradition.
